The end of this year is getting pretty interesting, as the very last trip is approaching and this week already I'll be in a very distant and exciting place. However, right now I'm more than glad to be spending some time in Paris, totally overwhelmed by the Christmas atmosphere.
As a photographer, but also as an ordinary city dweller, I realize very well that I have yet another opportunity to enjoy Paris at that unique time of the year. Shimmering lights and colors on the streets, stylish people, beautiful decorations, delicate frost and beautiful winter sun - Paris has it all in early December.
This week, I tried to experience all of these by going to the places that I don't visit very often. One of them is the 6th district of the city. Rue de Seine dotted with lovely cafés, the area around Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the church of Saint-Sulpice, looking simply phenomenal in the light of the setting sun, Odéon and the rue du Cherche-Midi... The list could go on endlessly.
I definitely should be going more often to all those charming places, where the festive atmosphere is almost palpable and the smell of hot chocolate is even more tempting than beautifully decorated window displays.
And a picture from the Ile-Saint-Louis that I just couldn't help sharing here with you ;)
