Now that January is almost over, it is quite obvious that the beginning of the month, marked with beautiful weather and golden light all-day-long, was actually the presage for the whole month. Delicate frost, beautiful sun and calm aura have provided really unusual conditions for shooting over the past few weeks.
Low winter sun is the source of light that is much softer and more golden in color than what we get during spring or summer. In addition, such a negative phenomenon as an extremely high level of air pollution, clearly visible even with the naked eye, gives interesting photo effects, creating a kind of golden-yellowish haze around buildings and other city structures. It gives a very special glow to photos, as the day light is probably even more dispersed. This helps to avoid images that otherwise could get too bright.
All this resulted in long hours of wandering around the city and taking tones of pictures. And yes, it is true that, due to low temperatures it was done with a little detriment to my health, but still, as regards photography, there was definitely nothing to complain about in January.
